The SWI and Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts are sponsoring a writing competition--The SWI/Cutthroat Special Awards in Poetry and Short Fiction for 2006 SWI Conference participants. The winners will be published in Cutthroat, A Journal of the Arts. Judges are: Short Fiction: Katharine Niles, author of The Basket Maker, and Poetry: Peter Anderson, Editor of Pilgrimage and Poetry Editor of The Mountain Gazette. In order to submit an entry, participants must be registered by October 1, 2006. For those interested, simply enclose one or two unpublished poems (50 line limit) or one unpublished short story (2500 word limit) along with your registration materials. Please leave your name off all pages of the submitted poems/story, but do include a cover sheet with your name, email, genre of entry, and title of entry. All submissions will be recycled. Winners will be announced at the SWI and will be published in the Winter 2006/2007 issue of Cutthroat.
